  • Point-Slope Form of a Line - General Discussion. This is your best equation-building tool. It frees you from the messiness of slope-intercept form for the purpose of building an equation of a line.

  • Exercise #15 Find an equation of a line from its graph. I encourage you to use Point-Slope Form the way I suggest: y = m(x - x1) + y1. WebAssign should accept that form without any further simplifying. This is also the preferred form on tests.
  • Exercise #18 Find the Equation of a Line, given the slope and the y-intercept.
  • Exercise 20 Find an Equation of the Line, given its slope and an arbitrary point. My method for Point-Slope is the slickest. WebAssign will accept point-slope form for these, any time it asks for an equation of the line, without specifying. I will always prefer point-slope formulation for these type questions.
